"Megan did a wonderful job on our Arts Council Funded 'Inspire' project. Her approach is thorough and professional. In our initial meetings she worked had to understand the organisation and our values.."
Our Story
Creative strategy and storytelling specialists for founders, cultural organisations and mission-led brands.

Creative strategy and storytelling specialists for founders, cultural organisations and mission-led brands.
Balor started at a kitchen table in rural Wales, with one frustration: too many brilliant businesses were invisible online. Not because they weren't good enough, but because nobody was telling their story properly.
Our founder, Meg, grew up on the edge of both Hay-On-Wye and the Bannau Brycheiniog surrounded by community, language and landscape, where culture and creativity are an overlap that is hard too ignore. She trained as a biomedical scientist, which left her with a love of patterns, data, systems and evidence. Later her creative itch: followed by a curious scratch, found her in marketing roles, entrepreneurial skills coaching & social media.
Balor is what happens when those two things meet: the instinct of a storyteller and the brain of a scientist. We treat your marketing like a living thing. We test, we learn, we refine, and we use proof and data as much as gut feel.

Creative Project Direction
We lead creative and cultural projects from idea to delivery, bringing structure, clarity and momentum to complex briefs. From early concept through to final execution, we ensure every moving part is aligned, purposeful and delivered with care.
Strategy to Story
We translate complex strategy, policy and ideas into clear, human stories that people actually understand. Our work turns vision into messaging that resonates across digital, cultural and community spaces.
Freelancer-Led Delivery
We specialise in freelancer-led, co-designed work. We brief clearly, collaborate openly and protect creative integrity while ensuring projects stay on track, on budget and on purpose.
Inclusive Collaboration
We design collaborative processes that are accessible, respectful and genuinely inclusive. Our approach ensures every voice has space to contribute, shaping outcomes that reflect collective intelligence rather than hierarchy.
Cultural & Place-Based Work
We support culture-led and place-based projects that protect identity, language and community. Our work is rooted in respect for local stories, lived experience and long-term cultural value.
From Chaos to Clarity
We help organisations move from scattered ideas to focused outcomes. By bringing structure to creative chaos, we turn intention into work that lands, lasts and makes sense.

How We Work
How We Work
We think in seasons, not single posts. We're collaborative, we're honest (even when honesty costs us the easy yes.) And we build things designed to last, because a brand you can sustain will always beat a burst of content you can't.

Our Commitment to Wales
Balor is rooted in Wales, culturally, socially and creatively. We work to support Welsh businesses, Welsh creatives and Welsh cultural identity. We actively promote place-based storytelling, inclusive creative practice, and long-term thinking aligned with the Well-being of Future Generations Act. We care about sustainability not only as an environmental responsibility, but as a social, cultural and economic one. For us, sustainability means building creative ecosystems that can endure even in rural places.
Our Ethos
Thriving in a Creative Rural Wales
Balor exists to help ideas grow with integrity, creativity and care. Guided by my journey through the Future Generations Leadership Academy, I embed the principles of the Well-being of Future Generations Act into every decision we make — which means we think long-term, work collaboratively, design inclusively, and build work that protects people, place and possibility.
